Go Traditional With Your Kitchen

The kitchen is the most functional area in your house, especially for the ones who love to cook. The kitchen has evolved from a strictly utilitarian unit into a versatile room to prepare food, entertain guests share meals and of course give a unique look to your environment. We often tend to go for modern or contemporary designs for our kitchen but we forget that a traditional kitchen has a kind of charm in its interiors that make people look twice. Your fridge, sink oven and gas are essentials in your kitchen but that doesn’t mean you cannot give your kitchen a traditional look. The interior designer in Kolkata at Cee Bee Design studio has a few suggestions that can help you achieve traditional look for your kitchen this summer.

The placement of bigger appliances should be your first priority. Place them in such a way that your kitchen looks a bit spacious. Traditional kitchen means use of lots of utensils and pots, pans and gadgets. If you are serious in giving your kitchen a traditional look then you can keep water in copper pots. This not only adds a traditional look but also has health benefits. If you store drinking water in copper pots it has a number of health benefits including purification of water by killing pathogens. Storing water in plastic containers is not good. Cast iron pans can be used for cooking purpose and for serving food you can use Kansa that is a form of bronze which purifies the food as well. Adding these things to your kitchen will not only give your kitchen a traditional look but will also break the regular use of utensils. These utensils are not only stylish but are pocket friendly at the same time.
Next thing you can do is decorate the kitchen with clay pots and lamps. This gives the old times feeling and yet looks very classy. If you want cabinets then get wooden cabinets mostly in brown colour. This will keep the natural look in your kitchen. Traditional kitchen should not be too bold in colour but you should go for muted colours like creams, whites, light grays or greens.Keep big windows and see to it that your kitchen is a bit airy.

Lastly you should not forget your dining area. If you are planning to keep your dining area in your kitchen then get rid of the regular dining table you have with chairs. You can get a table that is quite low and you can use cushions to sit if you don’t prefer sitting on the floor. This is a very healthy habit as our ancestors believed that eating your food by sitting on the floor helps you digest well.
